SIX PEOPLE KILLED IN MINIBUS ACCIDENT


Four people were killed on the
spot Sunday afternoon and 30
others seriously injured in
Salima district in a road
accident that involved two
cruising Toyota Hiace minibuses, police have said.

Salima Police Spokesperson
Gift Chitowe said the accident
occurred at a place called
Nanjoka along the Salima-
Lilongwe road.

Dowa who had sex with a
goat was jailed for two years
for bestiality.

The Mponela First Grade
Magistrate sentenced the
young man to two years
imprisonment with hard
labour after he pleaded guilty
to the offence.

dumped by his wife,
according to reports.

The wife, Annie, is said to
have taken almost
everything in the house,
leaving the ‘Prophet’ with bare necessities at their
Ndirande home.

THOKO KATIMBA CLOCKS A WEEK IN POLICE CUSTODY

Police Station, almost a
week after his arrest last
Wednesday.

The police arrested
Katimba, who is the
current top selling gospel
musician, for allegedly
using a friend’s car as collateral to obtain a Mk
500, 000 loan, without
the friend ’s approval.

MALAWI TO INTRODUCE K1,000 BANK NOTES


The Reserve Bank of
Malawi (RBM) will soon put
into circulation 1,000
Kwacha (about $6) bank
notes.

The introduction of the
new banknote, which will
be the largest one in value,
signifies another
devaluation of the local
currency, central bank sources said.
